Bad Credit Equity Loans
Bad credit equity loans are mortgages placed on real estate in exchange for money provided to the borrower whose credit score isn’t as high as the lender would like. Typically, these are offered with extremely high interest rates attached. Lenders utilize these higher interest rates for bad credit equity loans to offset the all too often higher rate of defaults on such loans.

JPMorgan Profit Rises 76% on Cut in Bad-Loan Reserve
JPMorgan Chase & Co., the second- biggest U.S. bank by assets, said profit rose 76 percent, buoyed by a .3 billion reduction in provisions for soured mortgages and credit-card loans from last year.

Question by melissa m: Took out an equity line of credit, loaned the $ to brother for down-pay on a home. Who gets to claim interest?
Brother initially borrowed , 000 and then paid us paid the ,000 plus interest of ,000 that accrued on the loan to repay our equity loan of 0,000 during 2006. We received a 1098 Form for interest paid credit/deduction. Do we get to claim the ,000 interest or does he?
