I work at a dealership and alot of people use www.ROADLOANS.com You can also see what kind of special financing banks the local dealers are using, like DRIVE FINANCIAL etc…
Avoid DRIVETIME…They will approve you for a car loan because they are a buy here pay here, but the quality of the cars are crap, your paying 00+ over KBB for the car and you will be hit with the highest interest rate the state will let them charge. Heres an example a 2003 chevy cavalier w/ 98,000 miles will cost you ,995 with a payment of 450 per month (broken down into bi-weekly payments) for 3 1/2 yrs. WHen the car breaks down (and it will) you are responsible for any and all repairs. If you are one day late, the collecters will call you.

Call a few local franchised deales and ask if they have a secondary, or special, finance department. They do. You can buy a late model, or easier yet, new car. You will need some money up front and a job. You will pay a higher interest rate. Just to clear a point…a franchised dealer is one that sells new as well as used cars. The reason I want you to do that is the new car dealers put a lot of business each month into local lenders. Sometimes that is the difference in a border line approval. You’re welcome.
You may want to contact an American General Finance office in your area. They can help alot of people, and do their underwriting in house. It really depends on how bad your credit is. You can try instantautofinance.com, but remember, the worse your credit score is, the higher the interest rate and the actual car payment. Once you get the loan, make your paments on time, and you may be able to refinance it after a year or two for a lower interest rate.
Go to any dealer or online website and you can fill out an application.
However the problem is Every dealer and online lender will claim to be the best and will get you approved…They deal with high volume and how they really think…if you throw enough s*** against the wall something will stick
